School Awards

An Artsmark shows how much a school cares about arts in education. It raises the profile of schools, reassures parents and carers that arts provision is a priority, rewards teachers and pupils for their efforts, and helps to inspire all concerned to greater heights. Awarded Artsmark Gold in May 2008.
The National Healthy Schools Programme is an exciting long-term initiative which is making a significant difference to the health and achievement of children and young people. The National Healthy Schools Programme supports the links between health, behaviour and achievement; it is about creating healthy and happy children and young people, who do better in learning and in life. Awarded 2008.

Active Schools is the cornerstone of Sport England’s commitment to involving more people in more sport - particularly young people.  The programme is built around two key elements: the Activemark/Activemark Gold and Sportsmark/Sportsmark Gold awards.  These national accreditation schemes recognise a school’s commitment to providing a quality programme of physical education and school sport. Awarded 2008.
